BRYAN BENENATI Head Coach After competing in the ACHA's first DIII National tournament, Bryan helped found the women's program at American University. Ten years later he is an advanced Level 4 USA Hockey coach who helped AU capture Washington's first women's college championship, and has coached over 150 Lady Eagle games. A believer in teamwork and creative flow, his "can do" style incorporates small games training and off-ice team development. Beyond coaching, Bryan has devoted the past eight years expanding women's hockey throughout our region as President of the DVCHC Women's division, now the largest collection of ACHA women's teams in the country. Bryan has played, coached and organized ACHA hockey in our area for a total of 13 years. He is a proud supporter of club sports & roots for the CAPS and Devils.

EMILY McVEY, PhD Head Coach As an undergrad at Univ. of Maryland, Emily led her Terps to the first ACHA Women's National Tournament in 2001. Since graduating, she's turned her talents to coaching. Emily's sometimes silly (watch out for nicknames!), always focused style had led her through 10 years of coaching that includes time with Archbishop Spalding H.S., 7 seasons with American (including our first hockey Championship) and an advanced level 4 USA Hockey certification. A firm believer in sharpening skating skills and positional "trust and discipline," Emily's ability to fine-tune an athlete's wrongs into rights is unmatched. Since 2004 she has served the sport as a member of the ACHA National Ranking Committee and as Vice President of the DVCHC Women's Division -- the largest college league in our area. When she's not coaching (or working) Emily is on the ice with the Chesapeake Bay Lightning, rescuing dogs or baking up a storm. "Hockey's "Great One" was short, skinny, and not all that fast... but he was the smartest. He had heart. I think that speaks volumes to what this sport is all about." -- Emily McVey
