We suggest the experts:

  • U.S. News and World Report ranked AU #83 in the US , our International Law program came in at #6.
  • AU was Princeton Review's #1 most "politically active campus" and #5 "Great College Town." We're even PETA's top "vegetarian-friendly campus" in the nation.
  • A "Best Buy" college is what the 2006 Fiske Guide & The Princeton Review called American.
  • College Prowler gave AU an "A-" for food and housing and an "A" for safety, nightlife, local atmosphere, & computing.

    HOCKEY AT AMERICAN

Playing college hockey is a thrilling experience. Our players have:
  • Had over 100 fans cheering for them at the annual AU vs. Maryland game in the Verizon Center.
  • Traveled by bus for a weekend of games in Maine.
  • Taken over DC's Mongolian BBQ restaurant as "guest grillers" to raise money for the team.
  • Worked with the Washington Capitals.
  • Marched in the Cherry Blossom Parade as the city's first woman's hockey champions.

Your training will put you on ice, around AU's indoor / outdoor facilities and even bring you to the classroom. We'll bring your skills to the next level while leaving your schedule free for what's important: being a college student!

Our home games are played in the non-profit Fort Dupont Ice Arena, 20 min from campus. Fans from all over the area and campus can enjoy free rides to the game, free parking, spacious bleachers and a warm snack bar.

There's an All-Star game (on pro ice), playoffs, national rankings and more in the ACHA and DVCHC.
